Beautiful.
I have never wanted to visit the United States. It just doesn’t factor into my plans when I think of where I want to go. But since I watched this documentary, anytime the notion of a vacation comes up, I want to blurt out ‘Philly! Phill! I want to go to Philadelphia!”.
This movie is extremely important. You should watch it and then you will know why you should go to Philadelphia before an amazing piece/landmark of history is gobbled up by corporatism and greed forever.

Created by Jaqueline Salloum and Dr. Jack Shaheen’s book, Reel Bad Arabs, this 9-minute video is a stunning and disturbing collection of clips that reveal Hollywood’s relentless vilification and dehumanization of Arabs and Muslims. The depictions are grossly prejudiced and relentlessly violent.
It’s really a worth a watch, but very disturbing. Consider yourself warned.

To me, this is one of the best articles published in 2010. A wonderfully moving profile of Roger Ebert.

Skateistan: To Live And Skate Kabul
A beautifully shot film that follows the lives of a group of young skateboarders in Afghanistan. Operating against the backdrop of war and bleak prospects, the Skateistan charity project is the world’s first co-educational skateboarding school, where a team of international volunteers work with girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 17, an age group largely untouched by other aid programmes.
